Public Appointments:

Mr. Cordes retired in 2019. He joined our firm in 2006 when he decided to “semi-retire.” Prior to joining Klein, Stoddard, Buck & Lewis, LLC, Mr. Cordes built a highly respected private practice serving a wide variety of clients in real estate development, planning and zoning, probate, and estate planning.  He continued to practice in those areas regularly, while reserving some extra time to enjoy the blessings of time and travel with his wife of more than fifty years, their six children, and their twenty-some grandchildren. In 2019, Mr. Cordes made his retirement from the practice of law complete.

DeKalb County’s charitable and community organizations touched by Mr. Cordes’ personal and professional generosity are too many to list.  He is a longtime supporter of the Northern Illinois University Athletics, and the NIU Foundation. He was instrumental in the founding of the DeKalb County Community Foundation, and for many years he represented the DeKalb Park District and the DeKalb Library.
