Ronald G. Klein (retired)

Military: Capt., U.S. Marine Corps., 1964 -1966
Public Appointments: City Attorney, Village of Hinckley, 1967-1997. Public Defender, 1968 -1969. Zoning Hearing Officer, 1989 - present.

Mr. Klein retired from practicing law in 2020.  He is the founder of our firm, and has considerable experience in nearly every area of law. His early career included everything from wills and trusts to divorces and minor criminal defense. In later years his practice focused primarily on estate planning matters, including complex trusts, family business and farming planning, probate, and drafting wills. He also handled a variety of real estate matters involving homes, farms, and businesses.

It is often said that the only thing Mr. Klein struggled to accomplish was his own retirement. However, his distinguished career finally came to a well-deserved conclusion in 2020. His full retirement allowed him more time to devote to his grandchildren, his love of books, and his affinity for travel.

Even though Mr. Klein maintained a very active full-time practice, he also found time to devote to several charitable, community, and professional endeavors. He was instrumental in founding both the DeKalb County Estate Planning Council and the DeKalb County Community Foundation.  His love of local history prompted his involvement in a number of historical societies and organizations. He served on the founding board of the DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association and as a chapter author of the DeKalb County Historical Society’s latest history volume spanning 1960-2010.
